# How do I activate my oxio internet?

After [__placing your order__](https://order.oxio.ca/en), you’ll receive an activation date for either a **remote activation** or a **technician appointment**.

## ${color}[#000000](Scheduled for a remote activation?)

Great! That means your home’s line is ready for activation.

* **What to do:** Just sit back and wait for confirmation via email or SMS on your confirmed activation date.

* **When to plug in:** Once you get that confirmation message, [__plug in your gear using our installation guide__](https://cdn.sanity.io/files/d3yz09lw/production/2983234ce1f90be047cae36a5c0d470a0094c25a.pdf) to get online in minutes.

* **Want an earlier date?** If your equipment arrived early, [__reach out to Customer Care__](https://oxio.ca/chat) and we’ll check if an earlier date is possible. *Note: Earlier slots depend on local network availability, so they aren’t guaranteed. You may need to sit tight until your original date.*

## ${color}[#000000](Scheduled for a technician appointment?)

Check your inbox for your confirmed date and time window.

* **What the tech does:** A technician from your local network provider will check the outside wiring or wall jacks to make sure your signal is rock-solid. They don’t handle or plug in your oxio gear.

* **What you need to do:** Ensure an adult (18+) is home during the appointment window, keep your phone handy, and clear access to your wall outlets.

* **When to plug in:** Wait a least 1 hour after the technician leaves to plug in your oxio equipment.
