How do I open or redirect TCP or UDP ports on oxio routers?

⚠️ For advanced users only - Manipulating these ports without a specific need can cause security breaches. TCP and UDP ports 80 and 443 are reserved for oxio and must not be redirected or closed. Note that troubleshooting may require an agent to reset your router, which can erase these configurations.

⬇️ Continue scrolling below until you see which model of oxio-provided router you have (steps will differ for each).

If you have the oxio WiFi pod…

☝️ Before you begin, make note of the port numbers and protocols the service needs and reserve an IP for the local device.

  1. Open the oxio Wi-Fi app on your smartphone device.
  2. Tap Settings > Network.
  3. Scroll down and tap on the* *IP reservations button.
  4. Select the device you want to apply the port forwarding rule to. If you do not see any devices listed, reserve an IP for your device(s) first.
  5. Enter in a port name for the rule, external port, and internal port numbers.
  6. Choose the Protocol (TCP or UDP). If you only need to open the port, use the same port number for the internal port and you did for the external.

Using port ranges is not currently support by the oxio Wi-Fi app. Individual rules are needed for each port you need to forward.

  1. Tap Add to save the rule - This should be shown in the list of port assignments for the device. If you need to set more forwarding rules for the device, use the Add a Port button.

If you have the eero 6 router…

  1. Open the eero app on your smartphone device.
  2. Tap Network > Reservations & Port Forwarding.
  3. Create a port forwarding rule for a specific device and select only one of the following protocols: TCP & UDP, TCP only, UDP only.
  4. Select the protocol that matches the requirements of the device or application you are configuring.
